Renzie Park, Pennsylvania
I just had the most marvelous time at a free rose garden in one of our local parks here in Pennsylvania. It was simply wonderful because the caretakers are out and about and will answer any questions you have, and even direct you to different parts of the gardens that you may have missed. There are not only mini-roses that are over 25 yrs. old, but topiaries, and various perennials and even some japanese evergreens. There is a beautiful pond and lovely pine gazebo for retreating from the sun in the middle of the acreage. I couldn't begin to tell you how many varieties of plants and especially roses of course that are growing there. I saw an amazing tree called a 'red top' and it was being pruned nicely by the gardener into a perfect round shape. The time spent with two of my best friends, one friends daughter who is eleven and my twenty-one year old son was the perfect beginning to my day. I took some video, and a few stills on my cam-corder so if I can find my camera usb cord, I will try and upload them to share.
