Hi everyone
I have a gooseberry bush in a large plastic container. It has been there 2 years. The container is just about large enough and the plant is healthy but unfortunately the pot is past its best and starting to crack a bit – I think it will last out the summer but it doesn’t look too pretty and I want to repot it if I can.
I am in the UK and the plant has started active growth for the year – covered in leaves and some buds but no blossom yet (see below, a bit hard to make out the detail with all the stuff behind it but you get the idea…).
My question is – when is a good time to repot? I don’t mind it being unsightly for a while if need be but would like to repot it soon if I could be confident that it won’t do any harm. So – should I do it now, or wait until it goes dormant in autumn?
Thank in advance!
