Requesting Less Hours
Okay I need some suggestions, I've never had to / wanted to do this before. Right now I'm working full time and going to school full time and also dealing with SAD on top of some other issues in life and I'm a bit over my head. I have set myself up in a way where I don't have any huge bills, only gas and car insurance and food which is super helpful. Right now my #1 priority is college. If I keep going I can be graduated in a year with my B.S.! YAY! However last week and next week I will be working 50 hours a week, and every week until January and last week I already didn't turn in most of my assignments. (Yes I know some people can work OT and go to school OT... I'm just not that kind of girl.) So my question for you is, do you have any advice on asking my boss for a like 20-30 hours a week for awhile? How can I say it so I don't sound whiny and how do I say it without getting myself fired? What is the best way to do it? Face to face or by email? Also, I did sign on as a part time employee and I'm only up to full time right now because two people got fired for being morons so the rest of us are taking their hours. How can I do this in the most effective, mature way possible? Thanks guys.. you're all awesome.
