researching companion plants.

has anyone here planted anything from the genus Tropaeolum as a companion plant? they’re also commonly known as nasturtiums…i’m planning on surrounding my corn bed with them this year to add a little color to it (and hopefully attract the predatory insects we all love). i’m tempted to put some around my cucurbit bed, as well, since they’re apparently useful in repelling cucurbit pests.

those of you who do grow them, what species do you prefer? have you encountered any that are spectacular in color? i’m trying to find some that aren’t orange, since we already have a buttload of marigolds to surround my main garden.
