Rose of Sharon
This is my first time with a Rose of Sharon (Althea) in the yard and I read somewhere that you can actually prune them to grow more like trees? In my last house the previous owners had pruned a burning bush to grow like a tree. The Rose of Sharon is only a little above knee high ($7.49 at Meijer woo hoo) so it's probably a bit early to go prune crazy, but was curious what your experience(s) were with them. I'm in MI, and it's a red double if that matters. What time(s) of year do you prune them in the Midwest US? My pee gee hydrangea tree is starting to bloom this week :) I love summer.
