I’ve had this peace lilly for over a year, and then I recently went on vacation. While I was on vacation my dad really overwater it and watered it with tap water. I water all of my plants with distilled water.
It kept losing leaves, so I repotted it. It’s still losing leaves. They turn yellow, then brown and I can pull them right out. Like the base of the plant is mush or something. It use to be full and it had just started blooming new flowers. Now, it’s very sparce, the new flowers died… some of them hadn’t even unfolded yet. There are a couple of leaves that look okay, but it isn’t soaking up water the way it use to. Normally I water it once a week and it has time to dry inbetween… but it took two weeks and the soil is still slighly damp.
So, I’m thinking it has root rot from being overwatered, and it initially didn’t react well to being water with tap.
What do you guys think? Is there anything else I can do for it? Or should I just get rid of it? I would hate to. It was one of my favorite plants. =(
