Sam’s Lottie update

Sam’s Lottie update

I've now forked over the first 5' of the old strawberry patch. A quarter of the total :-) I'm really pleased with how it's going as it could have been so much harder. Even the lengthways strip that used to be a path isn't too difficult to fork over. The disability I have affects mostly my legs so Lottie is furnished with some of those plastic chairs beloved of pavement cafes, which are sturdy but lightweight. It's amazing how much gardening can be done sitting down. After my legs gave out I removed 3 blackcurrant bushes which had become unproductive due to Big Bud, and I cut down the top growth from my Jerusalem artichokes and asparagus. Then snipped all that material into small pieces for one of my compost bins. Finally, leek harvest :-) My leeks are doing well this year and we'll be eating some tonight.
