Saving money while shopping
For those of you who have to buy those little office supply things like printer paper, ink cartridges, even pens, markers, whatever I have saved myself lots o money by going to Staples. I know this sounds crazy since obviously many of their things are more expensive than somewhere like Wal-Mart or Target, but let me explain. 1- Get a Staples reward card. Every transaction (purchase, copy, etc.) you make at Staples you get a percentage back. You get it back in the form of a check that you can use like cash at Staples. After a certain amount of spending (or if you buy a large purchase) you get upgraded to a gold card which gives you 5% back instead of the 2% on the regular card. 2- Recycle your ink cartridges there! They give you a $3 coupon for each ink cartridge you bring in. I know it's only $3, but by using that coupon you may have just made that purchase cheaper than buying it at a discount store anyway. This can be especially helpful for people who run a business and have to buy office supplies anyway. We've been doing this for years and the only thing we find that we really ever pay for is large purchases (computer parts, printers, etc. that we usually buy for our business) then we use the rewards money we get from those and rarely pay anything until the next big purchase.
