Saving Seeds

Saving Seeds

Hi everyone. For the holiday season this year I was thinking I would give Marigold seeds, a cute flower pot, trowel, dirt from my compost heap, etc. The Marigolds are doing so well and are so pretty, I really want to share them. I'm also thinking about sharing seeds from my Petunias however I've never even grown Petunias from seed, so I'm not 100% that'll happen. Anyway... I'm wondering a few things that I'm hoping someone can help me out with: What is the best way to store Marigold seeds? Paper? Glass? Plastic? They must keep until early next Spring. When I gift them, I want to make up a cute little paper packet for them. I have zillions and zillions of seeds right now and am wondering if I should break them out of their natural holder and just save the seeds or save them w the whatchamacallit attached? (i.e. the green thing at the bottom.. I'm drawing a huge blank on what it's called) I'm having a hard time forming my questions this morning and hope I was clear. Is it Friday yet? ;) Thank you so much!
