Security Freeze PIN
In 2006, I had some identity theft issues and I put an extended freeze on my credit. I now want to lift it so I checked to see what I need to do and found that I need to send various information, including my PIN. Great! I go to my identity theft file, pull out the letters from the bureaus and - no PINS! I was thinking that maybe that they were sent under separate cover but it seems odd that I would be missing all three of them. Also, these letters tell me how to request my report but make no mention of a PIN. My questions are: 1. If you have a security freeze, how did you get your PIN? 2. Anyone know if things changed in the past 2 years and maybe they weren't issuing PINs then? I was able to call Citibank and get the TransUnion freeze lifted because they have a relationship with them but they couldn't help me with Experian or Equifax. Much thanks!
