I have a young tulip tree (Liriodendron tulipifera) that seems to be having some problems? It hasn’t leafed out yet but all my other trees have and other trees in my neighborhood have. I’m in zone 6b (I think) and there is a mature tulip tree around the corner from me that is completely covered with leaves. I thought that perhaps mine died over winter somehow, but I pinched a very small branch off and it had green inside. I wonder if I should call an arborist to come see it, or if I should just keep waiting to see what happens?
Here are some additional stats about my tree: We planted it 2 years ago in the fall, so this is it’s second spring in it’s current location. It is 10-12 feet tall (I’m guessing). I haven’t noticed any kind of bug or disease…but then again, I probably wouldn’t even know what to look for.
