Selling my car (yes, another car post)

Selling my car (yes, another car post)

We're going to sell our 1999 car, and we'd like to do it within the next couple weeks. It hasn't been in any accidents, but it has plenty of wear and tear, and the sort of idiosyncracies that old cars get. (For example, the backlight for the dashboard clock died. You can still see the time at night, though, when the backlights for other things on the dashboard light up the display.) Knowing my husband, he'd rather sell it over Craigslist rather than take it to a dealer. If we can get a better price for it, I'd rather do that, too. Knowing me, I'll be uncomfortable unless I tell potential buyers everything that isn't perfect with the car. I'm planning on cleaning it this weekend (washing the outside, vacuuming the inside, washing the windows), then taking a picture and posting it to Craigslist. Does anyone have advice on things that we should do to make it more attractive? Is there anything we should watch out for? In particular, I've thought of ordering a Carfax report for it ($20) to show potential buyers. Is this worth doing?
