September 30th Free Admission to American Museums

On September 30, 2006, for one day only, museums across the country will join the Smithsonian Institution in its long-standing tradition of offering free admission to visitors. For the first time, Museum Day is open to the general public as well as Smithsonian magazine’s subscribers. Just go to the website to print your Museum Day card { http://www.smithsonianmagazine.com/files/md_card.html } or to see a list of participating museums { http://content.smithsonianmag.com/museumday/ }. They have museums in 49 states open (North Dakota's lame), but not all of the museums total. Some of the major players are open for the day too... High Museum of Art in Atlanta Civil War and Underground Railroad Museum of Philadelphia Brooklyn Children's Museum Idaho Black History Museum in Boise. San Diego Natural History Museum Eugene Field House @ St. Louis Toy Museum Museum of Funeral Customs in Springfield, IL Slugger Museum in Louisville, KY Have fun y'all and take yourselves, the kiddies, and grannies out for a day.
