silly questions :)

Alright here, I have a few silly questions about some things in my garden:

#1: My basil. I noticed it trying to flower recently, so I clipped the tops and used them in a wonderful grilled chicken recipe. It’s been about a week, and I haven’t noticed any further growth. Should I just cut them now and use what I’ve got in a pesto, or should I wait a little longer? How far down should I cut the plant, and will it grow back?

#2: My cilantro. I’ve let the little guys go to seed, they’re flowering right now. How do you collect the seeds from them? Silly, I know.

#3: My peppers. I have hungarian wax peppers growing, they’re getting pretty big, around 5 inches long now. They should turn a yellow color before I pick them, right? :) I also have something called “garden salsa” peppers, and I *think* they’re supposed to turn red, but I’m not sure. I tried googling them and didn’t have much luck. I notice on the labels that it says “70 days till maturity” or something similar.. is that 70 days from planting? (I got them at a nursery) or is that 70 days from seeing the peppers?

Sorry for all the questions, I’m quite the newbie at gardening! I will try to get pictures soon, most everything seems to be going really well! My flowers are huge, the wild flower garden is *almost* blooming and the fern transplant took well! This is such a relaxing hobby, I can’t imagine why I haven’t started this earlier!!

They said it couldn’t be done!
