So, my apartment has a breakfast bar, which I guess they figured would be a sufficient dining area because there is absolutely no place to put a dining table. Well, I had a table with chairs, but as I’ve never had any type of bar before, I had no stools. I don’t have any extra cash to buy any either. I begged on Freecycle a couple of times. No luck. People throw out furniture around here like crazy. On any given day, you can go to the dumpsters and find a couch or a bed, among various other things. But no one ever throws away their stools! Finally, last week, there were two sitting out there. I was ecstatic.
One is missing its back. But I had to take them. I mean, aside from that, they’re perfectly fine. And it’s still usable. They keep us from having to eat on the couch, too. So anyway, what do you suggest? I’m definitely going to paint them, but what to do about the backs to make them match? I’m not a carpenter, and I don’t have access to any carpentry-type tools…but I do have basic tools…hammers, screwdrivers, etc. if there is a simpler method to putting a new back on it. I don’t mind taking the back off the other one, though, but then what would I do about the holes? I’d rather not have the holes visible if I don’t have to. I’ve considered cushions, but that’s kind of my last resort. What do you guys think?
