Some deer have strange tastes.

Driving home last night, I passed an eight point buck a few doors away from my house. This morning I checked the garden for damage. The garden is in the front yard, so I can’t put up a fence.

This is all that’s left of a grape vine I planted in the fall of 2007.

It also ate the tips of a few tomato plants. I always thought that tomato leaves were poisonous to deer, shows you what I know.
They seem to like pepper leaves also. And they sampled the tops of some bush beans. Can’t complain too much, It left a lot for me.

They left the collards and cabbage alone
.They left the aparagus also, which I was happy about. I’m really looking forward to a big crop next year.
Marigolds are still looking good.
