some wandering thru the yard-en today
I took some pictures today, wandering as I barely could thru the yard just a little. Hope you don't mind. There's more in the Flickr gallery behind each picture. today we had to rip out the lupines as they had just taken over the flower bed. But no worries, as they will be back next year I'm sure! In it's spot we put a few plants (I'll take pix after the shock's gone) like bellflower, cosmos, gaillardia?, sunflowers (they were in a pot and rootbound, and move three tomato starts out there. I say "we" and as my back is out...hubby did all the work while I just pointed. I think these are the prettiest petunia's (I think) ever. I planted them so long ago and then they got leggy from the storms and weeds that they are just tiny little things. But they photograph beautifully. Vibrant beauties. there's about 20 of these under a rock in the garden (just here...let's not count every other spot in the yard...eek) and hubby threw them all in the creek today. I was able to get a couple of pictures of this one w/ his feelers out. Never saw a snail until we moved to Fidalgo Island 2 years ago. the pine tree is abundant with green cones, and most are leaking sap. just thought it was fascinating and I took a bunch of pictures today. oh and the carnations around (the statue) Ganesha's neck, were from my herb garden. the carnations have gone crazy this year and you can smell them from several feet away.
