Spent the rent at the garden shop
I spent another big wad of cash at the garden center. This weekend, i brought home a beautiful bright blue pot for a nice 3 foot tall Oleander. I also got white trailing Petunias and white Geraniums to go around the base of the Oleander. I didn't mean to go with the patriotic look, but when the Oleander blooms red in a couple of weeks it will look as if that was my goal. I also paid for a huge truckload of shredded red cedar mulch that will be delivered this Friday. Last year, I tore the front lawn from my rental house and built a huge retaining wall so the yard would stop sliding down into the neighbor's drive. I am going to mulch the entire front so the renters won't need to mow it. The new xeriscape is going to cut down on the water usage; the water will go directly on the ground at the feet of the perennials and a pretty weeping cherry tree. I hope to get some photos before and after, I'm quite proud of the back-breaking work I've done so far.
