orchids i’ve picked up at trader joes for my husband, repotted this weekend. i guess he’s moved them outisde? i’m not sure. they are usually inside.
digging out a clump of wandering jew we found this sad raspberry. my husband was feeling industrious, so he set it up with extra weedblock and mulch to stave off more wandering jew. we keep digging it up, it keeps coming back. :/
the first of two boxes of veggies for this year. it’s 8ftx1ft. we’ve got: roma tomato, red bells, yellow bells, serrano, jalepeno, anaheim and a cuke on the end, to be draped over the edge. the other box will be abotu 1.5 ft away, and there will be pavers put down all around then, plus a 1x3ft box on the end closest to the wall for shade flowers.
a freind of mine swears by marigolds and chives in her veggies beds, so this year we’re trying it.
my kids always run off with my tags. i can’t tell the peppers apart. SOLVED! win.

i know the roses look sad, but we just aggressively pruned them and dug out the choking ever present wandering jew.
this is the mother of thousands i have had for 5+ years. i repot it every year or so, this is about a year of growth. it will shoot up in june/july.
dammnit. i think my kid has been feeding it rocks again. :/
this was originally from home depot? it was very tiny with a layer of clue i had to chip away. it loves the bigger pot. it’s blooming, but i guess i missed the flower when i took this.
this bucket was choked with white sage and overgown oregano. i AGGRESSIVLY pruned it back and added a half a bag of soil. much mo better. it gets full sun all day.
the inedible fig is already blooming/fruiting.
gives you an idea of where they are. i am going to build a box where the benches are under the centralish orange tree. i’d do a circular box around the stump, but there is a damn lantana with a huge 2ft diameter stump i can’t dig out as it’s mixed with the tree roots.

my questions:
is there anything i can do to make the fig fruit less or become edible?
where is the best place in the yard for basil? pics were taken at 3:00pm
i know you’re not supposed to mulch roses – but is there anything i can do to get rid of the wandering jew permanently? it’s a huge pita to dig it out and weed it when those roses are in bloom. thorns like whoa.
