Still growing.

Still growing.

Back in mid-December I posted about my potted grape hyacinths and they're decision to sprout loooooooong before the spring. Since then we've had below zero temps (counting windchill) and then 50 degree temps and then 5 inches of snow and then temps in the 20s with freezing rain and then it was about 60 degrees the day after Christmas, only to have it fall to 18 on New Years Eve with a little more snow. Everything in my garden is dead or dormant. Except for the grape hyacinths. Photobucket They've even got new sprouts springing forth. They are very slightly protected because they are on the front porch under the porch roof. When it snows, they get a little. When it rains it gets a little. The ones I put in the ground are behaving normally. You know, still in the ground where they belong. All this to say: What is up with these guys?
