Stress = Flowers
I was talking to someone today about why my Calla Lilies are not producing blooms. They're healthy and are putting out leaves at an alarming rate, but now blooms. I told him I was watering it daily and fertalizing it every other week, but nothing. He said somehtimes when plants are happy, they don't bloom and you sometimes need to "stress" them to get them to bloom. I know that this is true of a lot of flowering plants. Does this also hold true for Callas? If so, what is the best way to stress a calla to get it to bloom without harming it or sending it into dormancy?
