Student Financial Aid
Ok I have some student aid questions I can't seem to find the answer for. Back in 2004 I went to a online college (Everglades university) and I got a pell grant and then loans. During my 8th class I had financial problems couldnt' buy my book I asked to be dropped from the class they couldn't drop me I received a failing grade (I had a 3.5 before this) and my pell grant was refunded back to the goverment and it just pushed my loans up. Now I still owe 4,000 unsubsidized loan and 2262 on subsidized, they are currently deferred due to financial hardship but they are not in default. (I am also hoping to go into Americorps to partially pay them back eventually) Now I am signed up to go back to school, community college. I filled out my Fafsa for this year and next and my EFC is zero(I submittede over a month ago). So I am wondering with what happened am I still eligible to get a pell grant and hopefully work study? What about Loans? I shouldnt't need loans if I get a pell grant my tuition in 1181 with 12 credits. My second question is, I need to get my transcripts back from EU now I actually still owe them $800. I am going to call them tomorrow and start a payment plan (I am in poverty I am like bordering on living in my car at every moment right now) I am going to tell them I can afford $25 a month (I make $300 a month cleaning houses and am actively seekign employment, I turned in resumes at 10 hotels today and one is looking for a housekeeper so I may take that until front desk has a opening) So I am hoping that my school will release my records after a few payments and that I can up the monthly for them once I am employed full time. Now my question is, can my school do my financial aid reward letter without the transcripts? I do have one of the grade print outs (unoffical transcript I guess it's called) for 4 of the 8 classes I took there. It shows all A's and B's. Has anyone had to deal with a simlar situation. I already am battling massive anxiety so I have been putting off calling my old school but the time is now.
