Hi, I’ve watched this community for a while, but thought it was about time I joined and posted the shame that it my garden!
We moved into this place 2 months ago. The house had previously been rented, so there’s not much garden to speak of. We have quite a few roses (in desperate need of pruning), plus I’ve planted some bulbs and made a couple of hanging baskets. This is as far as we’ve got.
I’ve included a number of pictures behind the cut, hoping you guys can help me identify a few plants, and also suggest what you’d do with this space if it were your garden. I live in Melbourne in the south of Australia and its winter here.
I’m quite proud of these baskets, they’re the first ones I’ve ever made up. Plus they add a bit of colour.
Any ideas what this tree is? It’s really a collection of straight branches about 7 foot tall.
When the rain finally came (we’re in drought here), this weed popped up everywhere. What is it? It has yellow flowers from memory.
My bulbs are appearing! I’ve put in crocus, daffodils, jonquils, tulips, rununcullus, ixia, blue bells and more!
What would you do with the last three pictures? I’m planning to put geraniums in baskets across the front deck to create a cascading effect, and the roses are important to us as we want to call our house ‘Rose Cottage’. I was thinking of putting an arbour over the stairs, with some sort of climber.
