Thanks to everyone who answered plant ID for the zinnia. My daughter just loves this flower, and definitely wants more for next year. And the fact that it comes in so many colors and attracts butterflies, too, an added bonus.
This is actually her first year of planting a flower garden, and she has done a fine job. I will have to take some pictures to show.
This is it a week later. I love the little crown it has formed on top. Like royalty!
