The cabbage family 2009

Its been a very different year in the garden, with each member of the cabbage family going its own way. The broccioli planted in full sun has yielded more than ever before, and has pretty much given up for the rest of the year.

They’ve been flowering before even showing a decent floret.

The broccioli planted in partial shade on the other hand are just coming into their own.

Cauliflower is just producing heads
The buggies aren’t doing enough damage for me to care about.
Meanwhile the cabbage is starting to get some idea that its supposed to head
and finally the collards are the growing gangbusters
