The New Guy…. with a few questions
Hello there, I'm not much of a gardener myself, but I do find plants and flowers interesting, (many call it my "feminine" side, hehe) at any rate, I love stargazer lilies, I have one planted in front of my house, that has been there for about a year, and it's grown to around 2 and a half feet tall, and it has around 7-10 little flower pod things (agian, I'm not really a gardener) and, It has me a bit irked, I'vve given it plenty of water, and it has been pretty sunny around our neighborhood, yet it isn't blooming, every other person I talk to, who has lilies, says that their's are blooming nicely, and it has me puzzled, my lillies are in a shaded portion of our yard, and I'm guessing that may be the problem, any suggestions as to what I should do about this? two of the pods are finally turning a nice pinkish white color, and one of them is opening up, but, the other ones have me concerned... another question, about the same things, the stalks seem to be bending over, under the weight of the flower pods, is this normal for lilies, or should I brace them with a dowel rod? and, what special preperations should I make for remoxing one of the flowers? I've got a friend who loves lilies, and I was looking to give her one, I'm just afraid that I'll kill my prized 15.00 pland by cutting off a flower, thanks in advance, any help would be GREATLY appreciated!
