The so-called “Miracle Fruit.”

Oh man, I hate this name. “Miracle” is a term best reserved for spotting the Virgin Mary on a grilled cheese sandwich.

I am referring, of course, to the “Miracle Fruit,” Synsepalum dulcificum.

I purchased three seeds from an internet vendor a few weeks back, and I’ve managed to get two of them to germinate! They’re sitting in a 60/40 peat moss vermiculite mix right now, and seem to be growing quite slowly. I’m in Zone 9b, so it’s pretty hot and humid most of the year, which I think suits this plant just fine. I plan on leaving them in containers the first couple of years, until they get large enough to survive a frost.

So has anyone here grown this plant? Any tips?
