The woes of having no choices for landline

The woes of having no choices for landline

Okay, so the end of our contract with our phone is coming up. We have a cell phone & also a landline, both through Bell Okay... so, I want to get away from Bell. As far & as fast as I can. We only get maybe 1 bill every 3 or 4 months, so we never know what we owe them, our internet service stinks (we're getting 30% of the speed & service that we're paying for, but we're paying 100% for it), & we always have to call them because the internet isn't working. We've found them to be extremely incompetent, unhelpful, & just annoying. So, we want to go with someone else. But there's no other choices, at least none that I know of, in Ontario. Any landline phone we get, even if it's through another company, is still through Bell phone lines. I don't really want to just get a cell phone, as we've found Rogers to have crappy reception in our area. We live in a basement apartment & we'd have to go outside to make a phone call if we went with Rogers. Any suggestions on what we should do about the phone problem? If it was up to me, I'd just go without one. All I need is the internet XP
