This miasma of rain and gloom…

This miasma of rain and gloom…

... is very depressing. My fiance bought me a potted hydrangea about two weeks ago, which we keep indoors (we have an apartment). Now, we live in CT, which you may or may not know has been stuck in some massive cold front like the rest of New England, and we have not seen the sun for the past two weeks, it seems. Additionally, my apartment has no southern exposure. Now, I don't know if the lack of light is the cause, but my hydrangea doesn't seem to be doing very well. The leaves, the new ones especially, are starting to get dark brown areas on them. I'm not much of a gardener, (though I'd like to start as soon as we buy a house, which god willing, will be in the next couple months...), so I was wondering if any of you lovely people could suggest some solutions? If lack of light is the main issue, is there any sort of lamp available that could simulate natural sunlight? Thanks for your help!
