Tiny white bugs…

Tiny white bugs…

I have two young strawberry plants in a container on my porch, and I've noticed lots of tiny white bugs in the soil and on the bases of the leaves. They look like some sort of mite to me, but I am extremely uneducated about garden pests and wouldn't want to go only on a gut feeling. They are approximately the size of a grain of salt, and don't appear to have wings. Any guesses on what they could be? Are they detrimental to the growth of the plant/fruit? If so, how do I get rid of them? I would prefer to use an organic method if possible, but am generally open-minded on these matters. Thanks!
