tips?

tips?

Hi everyone, I just joined in an attempt to find people who have better interior design skills than I do! I currently have no photos but hope that you may have some advice for me anyway... I finally have my very own apartment and I want to make it as wonderful as I can with my limited budget. No pictures right now, but I have a cozy little bedroom that fits little more than my bed, dresser, and vanity. Unfortunately the walls are all off-white, as in most rented places, and white they must remain. I really hate the walls and would like to do something more to them than just hang pictures. The centerpiece above my bed is going to be a a photo I took in the desert that has yet to be printed. I'm thinking 20x30 or 24x36. The photo is of a dead tree and the horizon line, the sky is a deeper blue as I took it in the evening. The color scheme of the photo: tans, brown/blacks, and blue. I was thinking of using fabric (sheer?) on the walls in some fashion and stick with a more natural color scheme--browns, mossy/olivey greens, blues similar to those in the photo. I would like to tie the room together so it's cohesive, but I don't necessarily want to stick with a theme. I like organic elements as well as clean lines. I have a few vague ideas of how to make this fabric thing work but I want to pull it off without making the walls look like they are in pieces. Creative, cheap ways to work storage in is also a bonus. I like homey, I do not want clutter. And I am on a pretty limited budget :) Thanks!
