To touch or not to touch
I have a few houseplants which I keep inside and keep a close eye on. I've gotten wierd enough that I name them. I enjoy touching the plants I have, feeling their textures and such. I find it soothing and I remember reading when I was a kid that plants respond in positive ways to music and tender care/affection. My fiance' however thinks otherwise. Whenever my plants have new growth, my fiance' thinks that if I were to touch the plant, it would kill it. I am not harsh in any way with how I do it, so I doubt I could crush the plant. Perhaps there's some validity because of the oils on the skin. But plants in the wild do just fine and their consistently being moved and touched by wind, insects, birds, animals, etc. So which is right? Does touching plants adversely affect them? Or is it all fine?
