I’ve been looking around online for information about trellis, stakes, and cages for my tomato, cucumber, pepper, and garden bean plants. I’m getting some complex information and I just need basic beginner ideas. My plants are inside, but I want to put them out this weekend in my raised beds. I’m in zone 5.
I’m thinking I don’t need any of these for my zucchini or squash plants because they are the bush varieties, but correct me if I’m wrong about this.
My bean plants are tall (6-8 inches) and when I put them outside, I think they’ll need something to withstand the wind, etc. What would be the best thing to use?
My cucumber plants are small (2-4 inches).
My pepper plants are even smaller (2 inches).
My tomato plants I bought (as opposed to growing from seed) and they are about 6 inches tall.
What do I need right away? What will I need to get eventually? How can I arrange the plants so that the trellis, stakes, or cages can be best used?
