Two Separate Issues
Issue One: I applied for a job at Barnes & Noble a few days ago, to supplement what I make already. It's been five years since I've done the job search thing, so I can't recall—how long does it take a place to get back to you after you submit an application? This is just for book jockey work, nothing really "career" like. Also, assuming they call back and want an interview, what kind of dress is appropriate for this kind of thing? Jeans okay? Khakis? Peasant skirt? Issue Two: I listen to music in headphones a lot, and I can't seem to find a good pair of them that will last longer than nine months or so. I'd rather fork out a little extra cash and have a pair that last me a long time instead of paying $5-$10 every time another pair craps out; I've already had to get three new ones since September. Any recommendations? My only preference is that they be earbuds (over-the-ears kinds usually give me headaches). TIA!
