Unintentional Garden Theme!

Unintentional Garden Theme!

The Bleeding Hearts are thriving in spite of the heavy rain and winds we've had in my part of England for the last few days; one is even still putting out new buds which I'm really pleased about! Yesterday my fiance presented me with a beautiful Rose bush called Waltz Time, which was promptly soaked for an hour and planted in the border. I keep looking at this little twig and trying to imagine it as a rose bush in full bloom. I'm expecting some blooms this year but it's gone into the ground a little late so am aware that I won't see the full benefit until next season. As for the unintentional theme; my partner also presented me with six Chinese Lanterns, so along with the Bleeding Hearts it seems that in the Summer my garden border will have more than a slight touch of the Oriental about it! I still intend to plant out some King of Hearts and the Lupins are nearly ready to go out there. The Lobelia is doing well, but I really do need some more perennial ground cover. Any suggestions please? I'd like something pretty but non-invasive that won't tangle its roots around everything else and choke my rose bush! ETA: Never mind; the postman has just delivered a package from a friend of mine, with more ground cover and tall plant seeds than I even have space for right now!
