Van dwelling?

Van dwelling?

I have many reasons for considering living in a vehicle, especially the money saving factor, but I wanted to know if any of you have tried it and can give some insight. I do not currently own a car so I would definatially borrow one just to see what I'm getting myself into before taking the plunge. And if all goes well what vehicle would you recommend? Are mini-vans good options? Just for background I absolutely love camping, traveling, and small spaces (I sleep in my closet at home, and it's not a walk-in). I'm 21, female, live at home, have a part-time job, and own few possessions. I live in Western Washington State and the weather is usually mild so I'm not too worried about that. I've been thinking about this for years so it's not a new fantasy. There is a great book - A. J. Heim's Car Living Your Way: Stories and Practical Tips From Those Who Have Been Down the Road - for those also interested. I've read it several times. Any other good websites or reading you recommend? Thanks for listening.

As far as van’s go a roadtrek would work the best, as they are fully contained, with galley, shower, refridg, bed and such.. there is a young Woman that used to blog and she lives almost full time in a VW Vanagan.. they are smaller in space but much cheaper to purchase and operate. I hope that helps!
