So I need someone who might be able to help me with this horrible company. Let me explain my problems. Back in 2005, I got three lines in a Family Share Plan through Verizon. Everything was great, I suppose. The monthly bill, after the govt added its hefty share of taxes, came out to about $180 a month and since there were three people, we were splitting the bill. In 2007, I had some serious issues with the other two people on the plan and thus, broke contact with them and everything. Since the plan has always been in my name only, when I moved (to another state) I went to a store to see about disconnecting the extra line, since I would only need two, seeing as how gave one to my partner. Well, Verizon (even though I explained my situation) wasn't very much help. They offered to give me a free moving package where they change the numbers to something local, and disconnect the two old phones from my lines. They also gave me a new phone for my partner. However, in order to cancel a line, they were demanding $175 bucks, which I did not have. Also, in order for Verizon to give me this deal, they made me renew my 2 year contract, so I'm stuck with them until next August. Now, I have the three lines (and one is being paid for pointlessly...) and my bill comes out to around $190 every month. However, our plan is for 1400 minutes, endless txts and all that garbage. I cannot afford my bill though. I got fired in December and my partner is working, but their hours have been reduced. So, $190 a month is a lot. Especially when I know there are other people who pay like $80 a month for two phones. In order to cancel my contract completely, it will run me $175 per line, with is $525 and I think there is also a fee for breaking the contract, just because Verizon feels the need to take blood here. I've talked to the customer service reps numerous times and they are all like, OH, you only use around 800 minutes a month! Why don't you reduce your plan? Which I guess would sound great, seeing as the only smaller plan I can get is 900 minutes (that's all that is available) but it only knocks $10 off my bill, so I think that's kind of a bad idea, especially if I were to accidentally go over on my minutes. Does anyone know of any advice for me? My phone got cut off again today and I have to pay them $170 tomorrow in order to keep it on. Plus they're charging me a $45 reconnect fee ($15 per line) and that's just the past due. The bill has accrued to around almost $400 now, because since its so expensive, I keep not being able to make full monthly payments. Any help at all is greatly appreciated!
