Was Not Prepared :-(
Hi All, I am down in San Diego, CA and we recently got hit with wonderful 80 degree weather. I love it, apparently my plants dont. I am a first time gardener, gardening in pots on my patio. Throughout the winter everything did great. Not a lot of blooms on the flowers, but the plants were still green. Well after about a week of this warm weather I noticed a few things with some of my plants. 1. The ones I only had to water every couple days, now need water everyday. I have come home to quite a few dried up leaves and droopy stems. :-( 2. My Split Leaf Philodendron which is huge now, the leaves are starting to crack and... well split! but not the way they are mean to. Is the heat too much and drying the leaves out? Do you suggest I start misting the leaves everyday? 3. My favorite plant, my Coleus which was so big and lush, it getting all icky looking. I guess the warm weather and the sun are not being nice to it. So I moved it to a more shady spot. Other than that my flowers are blooming and everything else seems happy. I guess its just my shade plants that are freaking out. Any other advice or tips? Anyone else have these problems?
