What I learned today…

What I learned today…

1. What the phrase "Gardening is a back-breaking job" means. 2. That pesky-weed-like morning glories (which may be something else entirely, but that is what they look like) are a pain in the rumpus to dig out. 3. That if you can find the root ball early-on in locating yet another strand of the pesky things, it's a lot easier. 4. That if you can find the root ball early-on in locating yet another strand of the pesky things, you're lucky. 5. That I'm allergic to cedar pollen. 6. That my big branch loppers are falling apart. 7. My star jasmine don't like Miracle-Gro (I'm not eating them, so I figured one dose would be okay). And that I still need to learn: 1. What a new pair of big branch loppers costs. 2. What is the best, most convenient, fertilizer for one's garden? I inherited a container of Miracle-Gro with this house, and I am not versed enough to know what all that stuff means, so I won't use it. 3. That I have yet another mystery-bulb. It looks like a reddish-green tulip blossom coming straight out of the ground. 4. WHAT IS THE BEST THING TO DO WITH MY BASIL SEEDLINGS... they're better today, but I'm not yet convinced I'm treating them well enough. 5. Why Morning Glories from seed are so weak at their germination. Lots of water, lots of light. Do they need supports already at 3" tall? 6. How long it takes lobelia to germinate and show above ground. 7. If I have an old-growth hydrangea or not. I'm searching for that answer... 8. And, to quote my 4yo, "lotsa" else.
