What to do with cherries?
My mom bought a couple pounds of sweet cherries (the dark burgundy ones) when she was visiting and left them here. I'm not a big fan of eating cherries as is, but most pie recipes I've found call for sour cherries. I'm interested to know if there are any other things you can do with cherries besides pies and eating them plain. They are just on the verge of starting to get a little soft. Do cherries make good jams or is there some other way to preserve them?
