Where did the summer go?
I feel so sad as I have had to work full time all summer and have not been able to get out in my gardens as is my passion. But in spite of my neglect the gardens are still doing well. I have a few pictures to show you. I bought a new daylily last week called Strawberry Candy and although this photo of it shows the bloom past its peak, you still get an idea of its beauty. I also bought two new hostas for my hosta bed, as the greenhouse had their perennials on at half price. I didn't take pictures of the hostas but I should just to record their names etc. The apple tree in the front yard sure did well this summer. I am including some pictures to give you an idea of the beauty of the fruit. The tree is about eight feet tall and really outdid itself this year. I can see I will be busy baking pies etc, in the near future. And the birds have planted their own garden this summer too. Beside the back steps they planted a bunch of sunflowers and I just let them grow and this is the result. I like the look of them there. Also, the petunias did well this year, as this picture attests. I will try to do more entries later on, if time permits. I hate working, did I mention that? Oh well, just one mone month and then I will be free to do what I want in the daytime. Happy gardening everyone. Oh, and FYI, the only reason I got to do some blogging today is because I took the day off due to a slight accident yesterday, I fell down the back steps and bruised my tush, scraped my right arm and have a small abrassion on my right foot where my shoe came off and my foot hit the cement walkway at the bottom of the stairs. I think I jarred my back too as it is is sore in spots today as well. Oh well. Good thing I'm tough.
