why baking from scratch is worth it!
I started seriously cooking and baking six months ago, as a way to save money and discovered a talent & hobby in the process. There is so much you can make as long as you have six simple ingredients -- sugar, all-purpose flour, eggs, baking powder, baking soda & yeast. (Milk and butter are often essential, but you should already have those!!) You can also substitute whole wheat flour. And then you can make: * homemade pasta (easy + yummy) - noodles, ravoli * muffins -- add fruit or nuts (optional) * pancakes * biscuits * bread - loaf, french --> leftovers become croutons! * cookies * cakes * pizza crusts I only have to usually restock on flour, milk & eggs (get 2.5 dozen @ kroger for less than $2!) And by baking my own bread, making my own pasta, and others -- I save $$ on groceries per month. ** If anyone wants help getting started, let me know!**
