Wildflower Question…

My husband is starting on his beekeeping this year. So he asked me to make a list of all the flowers and their bloom date around our property in my farm log. Of course, this has made me keenly aware of how little I know about flowers. Already today, someone else has identifie a “bluet” for me, which I had never heard of before, but which are everywhere around here!

Anyway, we stopped at the front of our property because I thought there were purple clover growing there and I wanted to grab a flower to press for my log. However, I quickly realized that while it looked like purple clover from a distance, it was definitely not!

This flower is about 3-4 inches high. The leaves and flowers grow out of a central stalk. The tiny flowers are only about 1/4 inch and look like tiny pitchers. The leaves are heart-shaped and fuzzy and reddish.
