winterizing perinnials

winterizing perinnials

seeing as this past summer was my first garden on my own, i have a few perinnials that i'm not sure how i should go about winterizing. i was wondering if any of you have had experience with the following, and could help a girl out so she keeps her plants happy over the cold months. plants in question (cut back? don't cut? mulch? etc...): butterfly bush dragon's tongue lamb's ear lily iris sedum clematis thanks!
