Wish me luck

I’m trying to get my mom to help me clean out her unofficial junk-room.

Wish me luck

It’s already a functioning bedroom, as my grandma stays up there for two weeks at a time every few months. I want to move up there by myself because I just graduated from high school and would like privacy (I don’t have a door on my current room, and it’s just very small to me right now).

I have huge plans for the decorating. I’m excited. But crap. A lot of work to do beforehand!

Sorry the panoramas aren’t that great, I haven’t made them before.
Also, I’m not great at taking pictures (lol it’s not that hard, right?) so my current room isn’t pictured, though here are some decor pieces I have in my room now and will feature in my new room to give you an idea of my tastes.

Cute hangy-thing my friend Andrew bought me at World Market on my birthday

This is also from World Market, but it’s kinda old. It’s actually my sister’s but doesn’t go with her room and I couldn’t bear to see it laying under everything else in her room on her floor.

From Target, 2 for $2.50 in the dollar section. I’m thinking of getting the green ones when I next have money. This is also the color I’m thinking of painting the upstairs… Of course in a photo you won’t see the true color. It’s a bit darker.

Chair that I love but don’t use…

Other lovely chair that I don’t use… (I currently don’t have a desk)

Wish me luck
Butterfly chair covered in stuff and lamp

Pier 1 rug I just bought (Actually is two pretty good sized rugs)

Wish me luck
Pier 1 pillow I loved but was $22

And finally

The bedspread from Pier 1 that I liked.

The lamp in the bed panorama is new (purchased for motivation to clean) and I plan to get the floor lamp version of it as well. As you can probably see, messiness runs in my family and the attic bedroom is the result of 9 years of collecting on my mom’s part. It’s also her sewing room, so there’s a lot of fabric and that kind of thing around, but when she sews, she brings it downstairs to the dining room.

I’d like some cheap furniture that is either a lighter wood color, a soft white, or medium dark wood colored, but I don’t have an Ikea store near me, everything I like on the website is in-store only, and everywhere else I’ve looked has cheap furniture that looks cheap.

If you guys have any suggestions or opinions, I’m open to them. :] I’m very excited to start working on it but my mom says half that crap is staying up there regardless of if it’s my room or not. She doesn’t use any of it.
