Worms and flowering cabbage…

So, a couple of noob questions from a gardening noob. Any insight y'all can share will be very much appreciated. :-) 1. I know worms are good for one's garden. However, I know next to nothing about worms. Are these the right kind that you want in your garden? Or are these like, maggots, or something?? The worms I'm used to seeing are bigger, thicker, and more of a reddish/black color. Worms in Soil 2. So... this cabbage plant bolted over winter and is now what I think is called a "flowering cabbage." Is there any way to salvage it at this point, now that it's been hardened to cold, back to a plant that will produce a head of cabbage? And if it's far too late for that, is it true that flowering cabbage is still edible? Flowering Cabbage
