I live in a rural area. I've been unemployed for about four months, and I'm starting to get down to the wire with "panic mode" about finding a new job. I'm registered with two unemployment agencies, both for my immediate area and for one of the larger cities in my state - which isn't too far away. Unfortunately, with the economy being as bad as it is, NEITHER one of them have had jobs for me in the past three months; not evey anything temporary. I call in once a week to hear they have nothing, and my phone's not ringing otherwise, either. I've been scouring Monster.com and my state's website for jobs - they never get in contact with me about my application. I've also put in a about 10 applications a month into places I've found in the paper. How can I step up my job search in a way that's likely to land me a job quickly?
