Thanks again to all who added to the cheap rice recipes post of a few weeks ago.
Now, I’ve figured out a good bit of what to do with the rice. One of our favorite things has been baked chicken and rice casserole stuff. Basically it’s rice, whatever seasonings sound good that day, chicken, enough water for the rice, and bake until its done. I often use cream of celery or cream of chicken soup for this.
If I’m using a whole can of cream of whatever soup it is, it adds to the cost of the dish enough that I may as well buy the preseasoned rice mixes.
So, does anyone out there know of recipes for homemade cream of type soups? Even if its a recipe for cream of chicken soup, and not condensed it’ll help because I can easily reduce it.
Thanks again!
