You Grow Girl is a resource site that combines personal journals with links to further information and resources. This is their ‘Resources‘ page – scroll down to find step-by-step instructions for various types of gardening.
I’ve heard they also have a book out on getting into gardening, but I haven’t seen it to review its usefulness.
If you are just starting out and are scratching your head about where to start, this site is well worth browsing for content.
