zone 5 nearly Thanksgiving
I picked and cooked greens, collard, rutabaga, broccoli and Brussels Sprouts greens as well as quite a lot of broccoli heads and Brussels Sprouts. I am going to have plenty of yummy greens to eat with our turkey. My hubs prefers only meat and potatoes for his feast. So it's only turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, and gravy [gravy is considered to be a beverage in our home]. I have to strip the carcass immediatly so that he doesn't pick it clean, that way I can boil the bones to make yummy soups. I put leftovers in containers and he can make 'endless' left over dinners, and I can have soups. Also I get some decent veggies this thanksgiving. **many smiles**. And it's winter here, no snow yet, several frosts...Oh and and a volunteer snow pea growing out of my composter provided me with a nice fresh snow pea, while picking my broccoli yesterday. YAY!
